Live Oak — The Suwannee County Board of County Commissioners, on Commissioner Jason Bashaw's request, came to a consensus tonight to send a letter on their behalf to Integrated Waste Management Systems asking them to locate their medical waste facility elsewhere.
The move was given a standing ovation by the audience.
The consensus was reached with four of the five commissioners in agreement - Jason Bashaw, Clyde Fleming, Ricky Gamble and Phil Oxendine.
This does not signify the end of the incinerators possibly locating here. The company can still seek other land outside the catalyst site, but must go through public hearings and obtain local permits, if they so choose. IWMS officials have not yet publicly voiced their next move.
