US 129 in Jasper closed to traffic on Oct. 26-Potash Corp dragline to cross highway

Jasper — If you have recently traveled US Hwy. 129 between Live Oak and Jasper, you no doubt have seen a lot of activity going on as you look on both sides of the road about one mile north of the I-75 interchange. Potash Corp White Springs has been busy with mining operations at that location. Their number two dragline is onsite, which is impressive to watch if you’ve never seen it in action before.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, there will be a temporary road closure of US 129 in the above mentioned area from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. as the number two dragline makes its move across the roadway to the west, according to Potash Corp White Springs Public Relations Manager Mike Williams. Traffic between Jasper and the I-75 interchange will be detoured onto CR 158, CR 249, CR 132 and US 41 during those hours.

Change to a city-manager.
