Minor flooding forecast at Three Rivers Estates

Live Oak —

A flood warning remains in effect for the Santa Fe River at Three Rivers Estates in Southern Suwannee County from Saturday morning until further notice. The flood stage is 19 feet and the river is forecast to rise above flood stage by Saturday morning and continue to rise to near 19.7 feet by early afternoon Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Jacksonville.

According to
Megan Wetherington, seniors professional engineer at Suwannee River Water Management District, there will be minor flooding at Three Rivers Estates with river water getting in yards and underneath homes that are on stilts.

According to information on the SRWMD website, Suwannee gages are not forecast to reach flood stage in the next five days.

NWS models show the Suwannee River to crest below flood stage for White Springs and Suwannee Springs.

“Significant areas in the uppers Suwannee watershed, mainly to the east and northeast of the river near the Georgia border, received less rainfall than expected,” according to the website.
