Two sent to hospital following airplane incident

Live Oak — Two people were sent to hospitals for injuries they sustained after a small airplane flipped onto its roof Sunday afternoon in Suwannee County, according to Public Safety Director James Sommers.

According to reports, the incident occurred at the private runway of Sonny Jones off 52nd Street which is located off CR 249 (Noblesferry Road) in Suwannee County.

Jones was life flighted to Shands Gainesville for his injuries while an unknown passenger was sent by ambulance to Shands Live Oak Regional Medical Center.
