Toys for Sparky’s provides 620 bags to families in need

Live Oak — Live Oak Fire Department held their annual Toys for Sparky’s Kids giveaway on Friday morning, Dec. 20, with 620 bags of toys and food given away to Suwannee County residents, LOFD Safety and Training Officer Alan Bedenbaugh reported. Toys for Sparky’s Kids is a program that is designed to provide children in Suwannee County with toys for Christmas.

In 2011, Toys for Sparky’s Kids served 474 bags of toys to Suwannee County children. In 2012, that number increased to 587. Bedenbaugh said their goal was to reach even more children this year, and they did so by serving 620 people.
