Juanita Lord Ward

Juanita Lord Ward, age 87, of McAlpin, Fla. passed away

 Saturday morning, Dec. 14, 2013 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Fla. following a sudden illness.  She was a native and life long resident of Suwannee County; a homemaker and member of the Luraville Baptist Church.  Juanita was very active in the community and her church.  She taught Sunday school and was a member of the Suwannee County Fair Board, Suwannee County Farm Bureau Board and a 4-H Leader.  She dedicated her life to being a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother.  She also loved doing for others.  Above all else, what she valued most was the time she spent with her family. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Aubrey Ward, and two sons Allan Ward and Bruce Ward.

She is survived by two sons, Lewis (Dorena) Ward, Houston, TX; Roger (Roxanne) Ward, Live Oak, Fla.; one brother, Russell Lord, Sanford, Fla.; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 in the Philadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Bankston, and Rev. Ron Russ officiating.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS or Haven Hospice, 6037 Hwy 90 West, Lake City, Fla. 32055.

Junior Bass, 76, passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013

 at his residence following a long illness. Mr. Bass was born Nov. 11, 1937 in Trenton, Fla. and lived most of his life in the O’Brien, Fla. area. He was a truck driver for Columbia Paving in Lake City, Fla. 

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Della Mae Bass of O’Brien, Fla., one Daughter, Rachel Gatlin of O’Brien, Fla., four sons, Hayward Bass of O’Brien, Fla., Larry Bass of McAlpin, Fla., Stacey Bass of O’Brien, Fla., Joseph Bass of O’Brien, Fla., two step sons, Irvin Foskey and Randy Mosley both of Perry, Fla., nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
