Mayo — The Lafayette County School District has much to be proud of when it comes to sports and academics on a regular basis each year, so it comes as no surprise to learn there were a few exceptional accomplishments in FCAT and End of Course Assessments (EOC) for the 2012-13 school year.

Three Lafayette High School students achieved perfection in specific areas of instruction. Diana Hernandez received a perfect score in Algebra 1 End of Course Assessment; Graham Jackson received a perfect score in FCAT 2.0 Reading; and Gabrielle Perry received perfect scores in both FCAT 2.0 Reading and Math.

Aside from student accomplishments, the school district also recognizes three outstanding teachers whose classes placed in the top 10 overall in the state for FCAT 2.0 in mathematics. The three teachers are Connie Aderholt Pearson, Brittany Hewett Jackson and Linda Driver.
