Officials are searching an area in western Suwannee County for a possible downed plane after Suwannee County dispatch received a call shortly before 10 p.m. tonight (Dec. 10).
According to officials, Moody Air Force Base was tracking the plane. The pilot reportedly announced a mayday call to base officials before the base lost communication with the plane.
Suwannee County Fire/Rescue was out immediately in a rural part of western Suwannee County searching open fields and dense wood. A lifeflight helicopter was dispatched to the area to begin an aerial search.
