42nd Annual Hamilton County Fair starts today

Jasper — The Hamilton County Arena in Jasper is where you should be today for a full day of activities and events at the 42nd Annual Hamilton County Fair Events Day.

Swine exhibit check-in is from 8-10 a.m. with the Swine Show beginning at 1 p.m.

Be sure to stick around for the Horse Show at 4 p.m. and you don’t want to miss the delicious barbecue supper at 5 p.m. For only $6 a plate you can enjoy mouthwatering Boston butt pork, coleslaw, baked beans, bread and tea.

The 4-H Dog Show runs from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. The Dog Show is open to all Hamilton County youth ages 8-18 and membership in 4-H is not required. Entry fee is $5 for any/all categories of Best Trick, Best Costume, Most Adorable, Oldest and Youngest.

Something new this year is an earlier start time of 6:30 p.m. for the Pee Wee Pig Scramble, which is open to youth ages seven and under.

The Swine Sale starts at 7 p.m. and the finale 4-H/FFA Pig Scramble will take place at 9 p.m.

Come out and support the youth of Hamilton County!
