Telford Hotel Restaurant offers surprise opening this weekend

Jasper — The Telford Hotel Restaurant had a surprise soft opening today in preparation for the official opening of the restaurant on Monday, March 3. The restaurant will also be open tomorrow.

On the Telford's Facebook page, owner Reese Brown posted, “Ladies and gentlemen, the Telford Hotel is giving a sneak preview Saturday and Sunday for lunch from 11 to 4. We will be serving a full buffet. Come join us and see us grow.”

Word traveled fast and a steady stream of eager diners came and went all day Saturday to enjoy a delicious luncheon with a variety of buffet food items to choose from. The service was excellent and the friendly waitresses offered homemade cornbread pancakes and deep fried fish samplers to the diners at each table as an added treat.

Ron Hart, Ruth Tennis and White Springs Mayor Helen Miller were just three of the guests who offered reviews of their dining experience. (see video)

By year's end, the entire hotel should be in full operation. Watch for a future article in the Jasper News that will detail all the exciting things that are planned for this fascinating piece of White Springs history.
