Severe thunderstorm watch until 2 for Suwannee, Hamilton and Lafayette counties

Live Oak — The National Weather service in Jacksonville has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Suwannee Valley area of Northeast Florida, as well as Southeast Georgia.

In our area, Suwannee, Hamilton and Lafayette counties are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 2 p.m. this afternoon.

A strong cold front will push across the region today with widespread showers and scattered thunderstorms. A few storms may become strong to severe with damaging gusts possible.
