Rant & Rave for Feb. 7, 2014

Live Oak —

If you want to chit chat with friends at the dump, then pull over to the side to talk. Do not park right in the middle of the drive through area so I have to pull into dirt/grass to get by, risking picking up nails, etc. It is rude.

****

Our animal control is a joke in the county. I have called several times about dogs that are causing destruction and chasing neighbors. The common answer is they are backed up. This has gone on for awhile now. When does animal control respond? Maybe after a bite or attack, I don't know.

****

Thank you! D.O.T. and Commissioner Oxendine for getting the stripping done on state road 137.

****

Commissioners why don't you make the hole County " by-Right", that would be less red tape. I could build more chicken house's and wouldn't have to ask for your permission. And then those people that does not want Agg. in this County will leave, and maybe take Harris with them.

****

There is no such thing as an accident.  There are only acts-of-God and tragic events.  Think safety!

****

Do our school system teach any safety rules to their students?  Why are so many people walking, jogging, pushing strollers, etc. on the right-hand side of the street???  Why do they do this at night, without reflective clothing and strobe lights???

****

I think that the Suwannee Middle School should have to do something special for the children who actually made the honor roll, but were not awarded during their recent Honor Roll reception! I know my child and all the others who were not recognized worked hard to make good grades and need to be awarded the same as the others. I know mistakes happen, but let's be careful and double check before making these kids feel bad when their names were not called out!
