Hamilton: Qualifying by petition ends for Aug. primary

Jasper — Qualifying by petition for local offices in the upcoming election ended at noon on Monday, May 19. For candidates who wish to qualify by paying the fee, they have from June 16 at noon through June 20 at noon to qualify. The last day to register to vote in the August primary is Monday, July 28, when books will close.

According to the Supervisor of Elections Office, the following people have qualified by petition to run for each of the local offices up for election this year:


County Commission District 2

Josh Smith (R)

County Commission District 4

Randy Ogburn (D)

Florine Dye Roberts (D)

School Board District 1 (Nonpartisan)

Nathan Griffin

Cheryl McCall

School Board District 4 (Nonpartisan)

Johnny Bullard

School Board District 5 (Nonpartisan)

Annette Daniels

Don Fenneman

Sammy McCoy

Suezette Wiggins
