Fireworks light up the Mayo sky-Chamber grateful for community support

Mayo — The Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for coming out to enjoy the 4th of July fireworks. It was a phenomenal evening with quotes from many as “the best year of fireworks ever.”

We would like to thank Phantom Fireworks (Cory Crews) of Macclenny, for their help in the planning of our fireworks event. We would also like to send a big thank you to Jimmy Sanders and Luke Murell of Atlanta, Georgia (firefighter/police officer) for the superb job in setting up this fireworks display and orchestrating the beautiful send-off of all of them.

Again, we would like to thank our monetary sponsors who made this all possible: Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce, Lafayette County State Bank, County Commissioners, City of Mayo, Leenette McMillan-Fredrickson, Lafayette County School Board, Subs N More, and various unknown monetary donors.

We would like to thank Pepsi Cola for the use of the Pepsi wagon for the concession stand and Thriftway for their help in acquiring all of the necessary items for the Pepsi Wagon. A big thank you to Tonya Rives and Lacey Swafford for their help with the Pepsi Wagon.

The bake sale was also a huge success thanks to all those who baked cakes and purchased cakes or just made a donation. We would like to thank Leta Hawkins, Eileen Reaves, Bobbie Rives, Erin Ducksworth, JoAnn Perry, Wanda Hart, Peggy Grill, Tamara Pridgeon, Virginia McCray, and Misty Moseley for taking time out to bake these wonderful cakes. The Chamber will be having another bake sale on Saturday, August 30 at Thriftway, Labor Day weekend.
