Rant & Rave for July 4, 2014

Live Oak —

Thank you to Betty Lawrence and the library staff. Their programs and materials make our library a wonderful resource for the community. Their literacy program continues to touch the lives of folks of all ages by helping them read for the first time. The library remains a safe, positive place for residents to go.

I was going to work on 51 right when you turn off at the round about and I see when you guys mow out the ditches you will get the weed eater and get around the poles, culverts and pick up the trash to. BUT when you suppose to do on the Eastside you just mow a little strip not good at all don't pick up trash just cut it up to and don't put signs out either. Now question who should get blamed for it the C.O.LO or your city councilman. Getting a free check for nothing cause you don't look out for your District or side of town.

The results of the pole reflecting nightlife as the clear winner shows that the mayor is in no way fulfilling the mandates of the people who pay his salary. He is simply elected time & again to impose the will of a narrow minded group who's personal beliefs are hurting our economy.

If you're going to verbally assault someone for nearly hitting your child while they lay flat in a clearly marked parking spot, maybe you need to re-evaluate your parenting methods. I would have asked my child how they could've been so stupid. Parents these days have everyone to blame but themselves or their precious family.

I have seen so many complaints concerning the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office that I felt it necessary to help correct that injustice.  A few days ago we had a problem with a stray dog that had come into our yard. The poor dog was in need of help, which we had planned to have done.  A neighbor decided he wanted the old dog, and climbed over our fence after we had gone to bed, and stole the dog. We notified the Sheriff's office, and within 30 minutes Officer Joe Woloszyn was there.  He understood the situation immediately, and came back at 0600AM the next morning to apprehend the thief, and the dog. My sincere thank you to a fine Deputy who went above & beyond the call. Oh yes, the dog is receiving needed care.
