2 injured in Saturday night wreck in Suwannee County

Live Oak — A Live Oak man was life flighted to a Gainesville hospital and a teenager was transported to Shands Live Oak Regional Medical Center following a one-vehicle wreck on 72nd Terrace in Suwannee County Saturday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to FHP, Dalton James Tyre, 19, Live Oak, was traveling south on 72nd Terrace around 6:45 p.m. when he lost control of the 2005 Ford F-150 he was driving while attempting to negotiate a left curve. The Ford rotated clockwise and then overturned on 72nd Terrace. The Ford came to a rest on the driver's side.

Passenger Cody Lee Jorgensen, 20, Live Oak, suffered serious injuries and was sent to Shands Gainesville via life flight.

Tyre received minor injuries, according to FHP, and was sent by ambulance to Shands Live Oak RMC.

Passengers Timothy Martin Knight, 20, Live Oak, and Brandon Lee Mortlock, 28, Live Oak, were not injured.

FHP reported that none of the occupants were wearing a seatbelt.

Tyre was cited for careless driving, according to FHP.
