Minor road resurfacing begins today in Columbia, Hamilton, Suwannee, Columbia counties

Live Oak —

Resurfacing small sections of pavement in 19 different locations in the Columbia, Hamilton and Suwannee county areas is scheduled to begin today in Live Oak. The work will require brief daytime lane closures, occurring between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Paving crews may also work Fridays if it rains during their scheduled work days.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) hired Anderson Columbia Company Inc., of Lake City to do the work at a cost of $259,000. They have until January 31 to complete all paving. 

 The sections that will be paved include (in order):

·       U.S. 129 in Live Oak between CVS pharmacy and just south of State Road 51 – northbound lane

·       U.S. 129 in Live Oak just north of Hardees – inside southbound lane

·       West Duval Street (U.S. 90) just west of Main Boulevard (U.S. 41) – outside eastbound lane

·       West Duval Street (U.S. 90) just west of Marion Avenue (U.S. 441) – outside eastbound lane

·       West Duval Street (U.S. 90) just east of Lake Jeffery Road – outside westbound lane

·       Baya Drive just west of State Road 100 – outside eastbound lane

·       North Main Boulevard (U.S. 41) just north of the railroad overpass – outside northbound lane

·       U.S. 441 just north of Bascom Norris Drive (County Road 100A) – both northbound lanes

·       U.S. 441 at Sunnybrook Street in Five Points – outside northbound lane

·       U.S. 441 just north of Sunnybrook Street – outside northbound lane

·       U.S. 441 just north of Lavada Street in Five Points – inside southbound lane

·       U.S. 441 just south of Tammy Lane – inside northbound lane

·       State Road 47 at Columbia City Elementary – both northbound and southbound lanes

·       State Road 47 at Fort White High School entrance – northbound lane

·       U.S. 129 just north of McAlpin – northbound lane

·       U.S. 129 just north of McAlpin location  - both northbound and southbound lanes

·       U.S. 129 in Live Oak between CVS pharmacy and just south of State Road 51 – northbound lane
