Christmas on the Square festivities begin tonight

Live Oak — Live Oak’s highly anticipated event, Christmas on the Square, is set to kick off tonight with live entertainment, booths and Christmas festivities that will be fun for the entire family. To guarantee this will be the best year ever, the Suwannee County Chamber of Commerce expanded this signature festivity to a two-day event with a block party Friday night, Dec. 6, and festival Saturday, Dec. 7.

Saturday’s events will kick off at 8 a.m. with craft and vendor booths, dancers, the best of local music bands and nearly two dozen food vendors.
The Car and Truck Show sponsored by the Live Oak Fire Department will take place on Highway 90 at 10 a.m. between Downtown Café and North Florida Chiropractic. Those wishing to enter the show are required to bring a donation of a $10 toy for Toys for Sparky’s Kids in lieu of an admission fee.

The spectacular lighted parade will begin at 6 p.m. The parade will begin at Suwannee Elementary School and will travel north on US 129 to US 90. The parade will make a left turn at the 129 and 90 intersection and will turn left again onto Houston Avenue ending at the football field.
