Live Oak —
I grew up in Hamilton county and I want to know why the school board would approve building a school once again on land that is essentially a wetland and has always been wet! If your contractors can't tell you how bad an idea this is, there is something very wrong!!! There are other areas to build on, try the old high school it is way less wet. Figure it out folks.
No doubt better parenting would help more than school paddling, never stated otherwise. Having no kids in the schools, never had, never will, just pay for it, can't figure out why #1? Do we have the worst kids, parents or administrators in the state, or the most self righteous hypocrites? (more likely) With a population of 43K why are we ahead of say, Jax, Orlando, Miami? Something has to explain this. Maybe more Christian forgiveness, judge not etc., along with responsible parenting? We need to lose this dubious distinction whatever the reason, can anyone disagree with that?
After spending this past weekend in Madison and Lake City I just want to thank the Live Oak Public Works crews for all the hard work they put into making our city look absolutely beautiful. We might have some issues in our City but looks is not one of them...Great Job!!!
The reputation that Suwannee schools now have in our state is more than sad, it is shameful to permit teachers or principals to use physical force upon any ones child. Parents need to be real parents and NOT ever allow this. When your kid is bad in school YOU the parent need to take care of your responsibility. This is not what any teacher or principal is being paid to do, no matter what they might say, and it is not their job to hit students. The amount of this going on is alarming and worth investigating. There are very few places in our state where this type of thing is still being done at all, and there are good reasons for that especially to high school teenagers. This is never necessary to do this and that is why it's banned in most of the USA.
