Pvt. Jerome G. Smith


May 26, 2014


Jerome G. Smith, age 64 a resident of Live Oak, Fla. passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014 in the V.A. medical center in Gainesville, Fla., after a short illness.

He was the son of Mrs. Mae Ola Smith and the late Mr. James Smith. He was a member of Ebenezer AME church. He served his country during the Vietnam war where he received an honorable discharge.

Pvt. Jerome G. Smith leaves to cherish his memory, three sons, Carlo Smith, Sherell Smith and Cedrick Smith all of Live Oak, Fla. A loving mother Mrs. Mae Ola Smith, Live Oak, Fla., two sisters, Mrs. Melvonne and husband Alonza, Lake City, Fla. and Miss Arnda Smith, Live Oak, three brothers, Mr. Arthur Smith, Leroy and Anthony Smith, all of Live Oak, a host of grands, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Pvt. Jerome G. Smith will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Ebenezer AME church Rev. Charles Graham pastor. Burial will be in the veteran section of the Live Oak, City cemetery. The family will meet and greet friends on Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Thomas Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.

Marjorie Harrell Musgrove


May 8, 1913 - June 1, 2014


Marjorie Harrell Musgrove, age 101, of Live Oak, Fla. passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Shands Live Oak Hospital in Live Oak, Fla. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Mt. Olive Church of Christ near Live Oak. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday beginning at 10 a.m.

Marjorie was born on May 8, 1913 to the late Remer and Luna Lee Harrell. She was a native and lifetime resident of Suwannee County. As a young woman she met and married her soul-mate, Vero “A.V.” Musgrove and they made their home on “The Farm” in Suwannee County until his death in 2003. She was also predeceased by an infant daughter, Judith G. Musgrove and three sons, Harrell G. Musgrove, Wayne V. Musgrove Sr. and Leo Randall Musgrove.
