Kids Music Camp plus Crosstyz and Chris Tyler bands May 30 - June 1 at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park

Live Oak —

It’s a big weekend coming up at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) in Live Oak. May 30- June 1. The weekend will feature the Suwannee Spirit Kids Music Camp, Crosstyz Band and Chris Tyler Band. Pack up the dancing shoes, bring the kids and have a weekend of music, fun, food and family time.

To register kids online for the three-day camp, go to, click on information and sign up. The music camp is free but parents/guardian must be onsite while kids are in class. No instrument? Don’t fret, the camp can provides many instruments including fiddles, banjos, mandolins, drums and guitars for the event. A concert will be held the last day of the camp Sunday afternoon, June 1, where students will play amazingly. It’s unbelievable and so fulfilling for the kids who attend. It makes the parents mighty proud also.

Friday night, May 30, the Chris Tyler Band will be rockin’ the Music Hall from 8 - midnight with modern country, rock and blues music. Chris works at a Jacksonville area country radio station during the week and takes his band on the road weekends. The band had played several times at the SOSMP. Nashville recording artist Chris Tyler’s great vocals along with two other lead vocalists add to the band’s superb playing. Band members are Josh and Woodie Berlin, drums and bass, R.J. Wilson - keys, Mike Torelli - guitar, and Charlie Dennie - guitar and banjo.

Saturday night, May 31, Lake City’s Crosstyz Band will have the music flowing and the guests dancing when they take the stage from 8 p.m. - midnight. Since 2006 dynamic country music has flowed with members Toby Witt, Robert Osteen, Gene Raulerson, Matt Federico, Mike Gilland and occasionally Darryl Valentine. The lineup is dynamic musically as well as interesting due to Robert being a paramedic/ fire fighter, Gene a flight nurse and both Toby and Matt flight paramedics. The band is known for its great sound, high energy and fan approval as it plays Southern rock and country music to the delight of the fans. Don’t you dare forget those dancing shoes! You’re going to need them.
