Strong storms, heavy rainfall predicted through Wednesday

Live Oak — Locally heavy rainfall will remain possible today as showers and thunderstorm activity first erupts over the Suwannee River Valley and drifts inland. More robust shower and thunderstorm activity is expected over Northeast Florida by midday as an upper level disturbance crosses the area. A few strong storms will be possible which will be capable of producing gusty winds. Storm motion will be to the northeast around 20-25 mph.

Thunderstorm activity will gradually diminish inland after sunset while moving offshore of the Atlantic Coast.

  • Today Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 87. South wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
  • Tonight A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2am, then a slight chance of showers between 2am and 4am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. Southeast wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
  • Tuesday Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before noon, then showers and thunderstorms likely after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
  • Tuesday Night Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, then a slight chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. Southeast wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
  • Wednesday Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Light southeast wind increasing to 6 to 11 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
  • Wednesday Night A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72.
  • Independence Day A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91.
  • Thursday Night A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72.
