Live Oak —
James Sommers, who was serving as the interim public safety director, was appointed to the position last night at the Suwannee County Board of County Commissioners meeting.
Members of the board raved about the job he has done since he took over as an interim.
“I think he’s done an excellent job,” County Administrator Randy Harris said.
“James has worked hard to make the department run more efficiently, and I’m really pleased with his work,” Chairman Wesley Wainwright stated.
The board voted unanimously to appoint him as the permanent public safety director.
