Lawrence (Larry) Victor Grondzki

Lawrence (Larry)Victor Grondzki, age 66, of Live Oak, Fla. passed away suddenly Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 at his home. He was born in New Brunswick, NJ and has lived in Live Oak, Fla. for twenty six years. Larry retired from the Department of Transportation where he worked for 19 years. Prior to that, he served his country in the U.S. Navy; retiring after 20 years of service. He received his flight training from the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University before entering the U.S. Navy. Larry had many hobbies including fishing and reading, but his absolute passion was aviation. He learned to fly at an early age and even became a certified flight instructor so he could teach others to fly. Over the course of his lifetime, Larry meticulously restored several antique aircraft alongside his father, Victor. He was a member of several flying organizations including the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Quiet Birdmen, a distinguished fraternity of accomplished pilots. In addition to being a well-respected pilot, Larry was a loving Husband, Son, Father, Grandfather, Uncle and Friend.
He is survived by his Wife, Barbara Grondzki, Live Oak; his Father, Victor Grondzki, Live Oak; one Son, Todd Victor (Betsy Kettells) Grondzki, Woodstock, GA; one Daughter, Kimberly (Clay) Nalley, Atlanta, GA; two Sisters, Christine Herauf (Don), Danville, CA; Theresa Kreyche (Mark and Niece Laura), Tustin, CA; three Grandchildren, Chase and Camden Nalley and Finley Grondzki.
A Mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church on Thursday, Sept.12, 2013 at 10 a.m., with Father Andrzej Mitera officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Quiet Birdmen Suwannee Valley Hangar, a newly formed hangar, in memory of Larry Grondzki, Governor. Checks should be made payable and sent to: Jack Jackowski 19186 60th Place B Live Oak, Fla. 32060.

Maggie Bass, 85, passed away Sept. 4, 2013 in Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Fla.
The Gilchrist County native moved to the Ft. White, Fla. area 17 years ago from Beachville, Fla., she had worked in the plant nursery industry, liked fishing and was a member of Suwannee River Assembly of God, Branford, Fla.
Survivors include, three daughters, Judy Ziegler, Barbara Johnston and Alicia (Kenneth) White all of Ft. White, Fla. four sons, Daniel (Minnie) Douglas, Lavon Tripp, Donald Ray Bass, Leon Earl “Buddy” Bass all of Ft.White, Fla., one sister, Margaret (John) Petty of Chiefland, Fla., three brothers, R J Douglas, of Ft.White, Fla., Dennis Douglas of Bell, Fla., Warren Douglas of Ft.White, Fla., eleven Grand-Children twenty Great Grandchildren and six Great Great Grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were conducted Monday Sept. 9, 2013 at 2 p.m. in Breaking Chains For Christ Worship Center, Branford, Fla. with Pastor Shaun Campbell officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Gilchrist County.
