Minor injuries sustained in CR 136 wreck Wednesday afternoon

Live Oak —

A pickup truck overturned on County Road 136 Wednesday afternoon when another vehicle reportedly failed to see an oncoming car before making a left turn, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to a FHP report, on Wednesday, at approximately 4 p.m., Nicles Leary, 85, of Live Oak, was driving a 2010 Honda Civic and traveling west on CR 136. Paula Adams, 52, of Live Oak, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Pickup and traveling east on CR 136.

According to FHP, Leary attempted to make a left turn onto 145th Drive and failed to see Adams’ vehicle. The front of the Civic struck the left side of the pickup. Adams traveled onto the south shoulder of the roadway and began to rotate counter clockwise, striking a tree with its right side and overturned. The pickup came to a final rest on a private driveway on its roof, facing in a north westerly direction. The Civic came to a final rest in the north bound lane of 145th Drive.

Both Leary and Adams sustained minor injuries and were transported to Shands Live Oak Regional Medical Center.

Leary was cited for an improper left turn.

The Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office, the Live Oak Police Department and Suwannee County Fire Rescue assisted FHP at the scene.
