It’s no mystery, prom was a hit in Mayo

Mayo — The Lafayette High School “Mystery Masquerade Who’s Behind the Mask” prom was a success, according to Janna Walker.

“Limo’s began to pull up just before time to enter,” said Walker. “The students entered the door at 9 p.m. ready to dance.”

The girls, Walker said, were dressed in a variety of sequined gowns while the young men were decked out in black, brown and gray attire with one gentleman even sporting a purple suit with a tie. There were masks, top hats, feathers and glitter to enhance the room in keeping with the mystery theme.

Tables were lit with just a hint of light, Walker said, making everyone wonder who was really behind the mask. Meanwhile, the D. J.’s kept the students on the dance floor until the stroke of midnight.

Many thanks go out to all the juniors and parents who participated in the decorating, as well as the clean up afterward.

“We hope this was a night for both juniors and seniors to remember!” said Walker.
