Frances Brabham Buie

 

Aug. 11, 1920 - Feb. 27, 2014

 

Born Frances Cornelia Brabham on Aug. 11, 1920 in Jacksonville, Fla., Frances married George Buie, a Navy meteorologist two days before Pearl Harbor. After the war, Frances accompanied her husband to live in several places in the United States: Washington, D.C.; San Diego, CA; Philadelphia, PA; Honolulu, HI and many tours abroad in Trinidad, Panama, and Morocco. 

She resided in Jacksonville, Fla. for a few years after her husband retired from the Navy before moving to Dowling Park, FL on Dec. 1, 1973. She first served a couple of years as a house parent and then remained in Dowling Park with her husband to enjoy full retirement. After 72 years of marriage, Frances passed on Feb. 27, 2014, at the age of 93 at Live Oak Hospital. 

She is survived by her Husband George and son, Gary. She will be sorely missed by family and the many friends she made over the years in Dowling Park. 

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 10 a.m.; Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Dowling Park, Fla., Officiating is Rev. Jack Jones.

A Graveside Service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Old Cemetery, at The Advent Christian Village, Dowling Park, Fla., Officiating is Rev. John Harper.

Quinton Bell

 

May 27, 1928 - March 5, 2014

 

Quinton Bell, age 85, of Live Oak, Fla. passed away early Wednesday morning, March 5, 2014 at Shands Live Oak following a lengthy illness.  He was born in Madison, Fla. living most of his life in Live Oak. He was a self employed real estate agent and served in the Florida National Guard for over twenty years. Quinton was a member of Westwood Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school for the Junior Boys and later the Senior Men’s Class.  He coached Little League Baseball for fifteen years and was a member of the Live Oak Lion’s Club.
