Live Oak — James K. Wade Sr.

April 29 1931 -

August 12, 2010

James K. Wade, born in Suwannee County on April 29 1931, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Lake City, Fla. on August 12, 2010.

He was a Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired in Orlando from the Florida Highway Patrol after 28 years of service at the rank of lieutenant.  He also worked for the federal Marshall's Service and the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

He was a devoted father of three children,  Patricia, Jay (Terri), Keith (Faye) and Wade. He was a grandfather of four and great-grandfather of two. He also leaves behind his ex-wife Alice Lear of Branford, Fl.

A memorial service was held on Aug.15 at the Lake City Moose Lodge #624.

Tommie L. Holton Sr.

Pastor Tommie L. Holton Sr., age 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, August 15, 2010.  He was born in Brevard County on November 12, 1934 and spent a large part of his life in Ft. Pierce, Florida.  He pastored churches in the state of Florida for over 30 years.  Prior to becoming a pastor, he was in the Gideon Ministry.  He preached in the prison ministries at both Florida State Prison in Raiford and Baker County.  He also led groups on mission trips to the islands of the Caribbean and Jamaica and went to Ulsan City, Korea on mission crusades.  In addition he led Bible Day Camps in Michigan during the summer months.  God also used him to help establish three new Church Missions.  He was an active member of the J.O. McLeod Evangelistic Ministry Team helping lead camp meetings throughout Florida and Georgia.  He helped and guided many people in finding their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.  He was the current pastor at Peace Baptist Church of Branford, Fla.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, daughters Kathy (David) Carter of Savannah, Ga.; Suzanne (Dane) Aderholt of Allen, Texas; Edwynna (Bobby) Crisp of Branford, Fla.; and son Tommie (Karen) Holton Jr. of Marietta, Ga.; grandchildren Sally and Lindsey Carter; Travis (Kathie) Crisp; Todd Crisp; Toby (Allison) Crisp; Tabitha (Matthew) Taylor; Forrest and Christian Aderholt; Kieran and Patrick Holton; great-grandchild Callie Cris;  two sisters, Janice Harvey and Doris Wiles; and was preceded in death by granddaughter Dorea Aderholt, parents Bernice and George Holton, and brother Gary Holton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Peace Baptist Church in Branford, Florida with Rev. Gene Koons and Rev. Vernon Welkner officiating. Interment will follow at Old Hatchbend Cemetery.  A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Peace Baptist Church.

Vince Evans

Vince Evans, 24, of Live Oak, Fla. passed away on Monday, August 16, 2010 in the Shands at UF Hospital, Gainesville, Fla. The Adak, Alaska native lived most of his life in Live Oak, Fla. He was a home restoration contractor and of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints faith.

Vince had a love for hunting and the outdoors. He was quick-witted and was a complete joy to be around. He was a loyal friend, father and husband. Vince had an outgoing personality and never seemed to meet a stranger, which was evident by his number of friends, many dating back to his early childhood. "Our" Vince will be forever missed, but never forgotten.

Visitation was held Thursday evening August 19, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Daniels Funeral Home, Live Oak, Fla.
