Obituaries for the Suwannee Democrat, April 7, 2004 issue

John Oliver "Jack" McLeod

John Oliver "Jack" McLeod, 78, of Live Oak, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2004, in his home after a long illness. The Suwannee County native moved to Live Oak from Perry in 1984, retired after 32 years as a supervisor at Procter and Gamble "Buckeye," Perry and was of the Baptist faith.



Survivors include: his wife, Elizabeth McLeod, Live Oak; three sons, John D. (Margie) McLeod, Destry McLeod and Kevin (Denise) McLeod, all of Live Oak; two sisters, Myrtice Boyer, Keystone Heights and Stella Butler, Callahan; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.



Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, April 2, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Wellborn with the Rev. Lewis Gooch officiating.



Daniels Funeral Home of Live Oak was in charge of all arrangements.



Eva "Granny" Robinson



Eva "Granny" Robinson, 84, of Elkhart, Texas, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at Spring Season of Elkhart. She was born in April 19, 1919 in Moultrie, Ga. to Buddy and Rebecca Kelly.

She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Warren, Texas. Robinson was a retired cook for the Advent Christian Village, Dowling Park, after 15 years of services. She also worked as a line canner at Kraft Foods. Robinson was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Clarence James Robinson.



Survivors include: a daughter, Carol Robinson of Palestine, Texas; a son Lawrence and wife Barbara Jane of Palestine, Texas; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.



Services were held at 3 p.m., Thursday, April 1, at Bailey & Foster Chapel, Palestine, Texas with the Rev. Willie Reagan officiating. Burial followed in Ferguson Cemetery.



Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine, Texas was in charge of all arrangements.



George "Pete" Yatros



George "Pete" Yatros, 63, of Live Oak, passed away Monday, March 29, 2004 in his home after a short illness. The Detroit, Michigan native moved to Live Oak from Hollywood, FL., in 1990, worked as a custodian in the Suwannee Middle School in Live Oak since 1992, was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the Moose Lodge in Lake City and was of the Greek orthodox faith.



Survivors include his wife: Jane L. Yatros, Live Oak, FL.; his mother: Maria Yatros, Trenton, MI.; one daughter: Jennifer Rodopoulos, Taylor, MI.; two sons: Anthony Yatros, Taylor, MI. and Nicholas Yatros, Southgate, MI.; one sister: Kelley Grantham, Fountain Hills, AZ.; one brother Nick Yatros, Higgins Lake, MI.; six grandchildren.



Memorial services will be conducted on April 19, 2004 at Bixler Memorial Chapel at Advent Christian Village, Dowling Park, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations to be made to Advent Christian Villiage, Dowling Park, FL., 32064. Daniels Funeral Home of Live Oak is in charge of all arrangements.



Ronny Hart



Ronny Hart, Sr., 65, of Live Oak, Fl., passed away Sunday, April 4, 2004, in his home after a long illness. Mr. Hart lived in Live Oak all his life and was a member of the Live Oak Church of God.



Survivors include his wife: Lily Hart, Live Oak, FL.; one daughter: Cheryl Hart Neal, Live Oak, FL.; two sons: Ronny Hart, Jr. and Larry Hart both of Live Oak, FL.; one sister: Connie Westberry, Live Oak, FL.; and eight grandchildren. Poppa we love you and miss you.



Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2004 in Live Oak Church of God with Rev. Fred Watson officiating. Internment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Daniels Funeral Home of Live Oak is in charge of all arrangements.



George Clayton Bush



George Clayton Bush, 104, of Branford died Thursday, April 1, 2004 in Trenton, FL. Survivors include sons Kenneth (Shirley) and Wilbur (Betty) Bush. Daniels Funeral Home, Branford, is in charge of arrangements.



Linda Carol Holm



Linda Carol Holm, 57, of Live Oak passed away Sunday, April 4, 2004 in her home. Daniels Funeral Home, Live Oak, FL.

Myrtle Bly DuPre



Myrtle Bly DuPre, 91, of Dowling Park, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2004, in the Lake City Medical Center after short illness. The Greensboro, Fl native lived in Dowling Park 12 years and in Live Oak 52 years.



Mrs. DuPre retired after 40 years as owner/operator of DuPre's Department Store in Live Oak, was active in the Woman's Club, Live Oak Garden Club and bridge club and was a member of First Baptist Church, Live Oak, where she attended the Gleaners Sunday School class.



Survivors include her daughter: Mabel (Ned) Moorehead, Lake City, Fl.; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. DuPre was preceded in death by her husband, Harry N. DuPre and son, William E. DuPree.



There will be a memorial service Friday, April 9, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Bixler Chapel at Advent Christian Village, Dowling Park, Fl. Graveside services were conducted Thursday, April 8, 2004, in Live Oak Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Robinett and the Rev. Ron Thomas officiating.



In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Live Oak, 401 W. Howard St., Live Oak, Fl 32064 or Advent Christian Village, Dowling Park, Fl, 32064.

Claudia B. Thompson



Claudia B. Thompson, 89, of Live Oak, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2004, in the Suwannee Health Care Center, Live Oak, Fl. The Suwannee County native was a homemaker and a member of Orange Baptist Church in Live Oak.



Survivors include three daughters: Shirley Bennett, Bartlett, TN, Yvonne Tillman and Bonnie Kellogg both of Live Oak, Fl; Six grandchildren and 13 great -grandchildren.



Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 9, 2004, at Orange Baptist Church with the Rev. Clarence Parker and the Rev. James Jackson officiating. Internment will follow in Pine Level Baptist Church cemetery, Dowling Park, Fl.
