US 129 Daytime lane closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in short sections south of Live Oak to just north of the Hal Adams Bridge in Luraville. The sections are located:
South of the railroad overpass in McAlpin
North of the S&S store in McAlpin
At 161st Road south of Live Oak
North and south of 155th Place south of Live Oak
North of Luraville
South of 133rd Drive south of Live Oak
At 100th Terrace south of Live Oak
At 104th Street south of Live Oak
In Live Oak just north of Pinewood Drive
Interstate 75 Daytime lane closures for southbound traffic between the Georgia line and State Road 6 (Exit 460) for resurfacing. No lane closures are allowed from 6 a.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Sunday. The speed limit is reduced to 60 mph during lane closures.
US 41 Daytime lane closures after 8:30 a.m. between US 129 in Jasper and the city limits of White Springs for resurfacing and between US 129 in White Springs and the Columbia County line for drainage improvements as part of the resurfacing project. Crews may work some weekends.

County Road 354 Possible daytime lane closures between US 27 and State Road 51 (Hal Adams Bridge) for construction of a new bike trail on the north and east side of the road.

US 27 (Main Street) (upcoming) The road will be temporarily closed Saturday, December 8 in Mayo from 6 to 8 p.m. for the Christmas in the Park parade. Lafayette Sheriff’s deputies will detour traffic.
- Flu vaccine available at the Health Department
Seasonal influenza vaccine is now available at the Suwannee County Health Department. Vaccine is available Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8-11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. The charge is $15 for adults and is free of charge for persons age 6 months through 18 years.

Christmas on the Square” will begin a day early
Friday Night starts something new. “The 29th Annual Christmas on the Square” will begin a day early. Get started with the Jingle Bell Fun Run/ Walk. It is a 1.9 mile route around the downtown area and ends where it starts, at the Train Depot. Additionally, there is a FREE” Street Block Party”, bring a chair and enjoy music.

PotashCorp White Springs announces operational and workforce changes
White Springs Agricultural Chemicals, Inc (PotashCorp White Springs) announced today that it will permanently close the Suwannee River chemical plant – one of two plants at the White Springs facility – during the second half of 2014. Initial closure activities will result in an immediate reduction of approximately 250 people. Final closure in 2014 will result in an additional reduction of approximately 100 people, a cumulative reduction of approximately 50 per cent from current levels.
According to Mike Williams, PotashCorp White Springs public affairs manager, the approximate 250 employees were notified Tuesday of their immediate job loss, however, those employees will be paid and receive benefits until February.
