Halloween - Wellborn-style

Wellborn Community Association ensures a safe and happy night for the youngsters

By Wendell Snowden

Association members started gathering early Saturday afternoon to prepare for the Children’s Halloween Party. Yes, we had to turn off those college football games and forget about the third game of the World Series and head out to do a more precious and important task. That task would be to make sure that the Wellborn children would have a safe and happy Halloween.

WCA volunteers stayed busy most of the late afternoon and into the night as the ghosts and goblins showed up for a treat and then stayed on with us for fun and friends. They were all treated to bags of candy, spider and ghost rings, and hot dogs, chips, sodas and home-baked cupcakes. The children, parents and grandparents had a good time, as did the WCA volunteers.

Next up for the WCA is our annual Thanksgiving dinner, and then right around the corner, the annual Christmas party.
