ATV crash leaves rider hospitalized

An all-terrain vehicle accident Sunday left a Live Oak man with head and back injuries, reports show.

Joey Nathaniel Haynes Jr., 24, of 11084 CR 49, Live Oak, was traveling north on a trail in a pine field on private property at 16310 76th Street at about 2:45 p.m. when he jumped a dirt pile in the trail, according to a report by Suwannee County Sheriff's Deputy Sheriff Cory Horne.

"It appeared that the ATV landed nose down on the right front," Horne wrote.

Haynes was ejected from the vehicle.

He was lifeflighted to Shands UF, where he was listed in good condition Monday afternoon.

A juvenile passenger received minor scratches to his right arm, reports show.
