Asst. state attorney loses job amid allegations

Hugging and kissing a Columbia County sheriff's deputy on the head cost an assistant state attorney her job, according to Third Circuit State Attorney Skip Jarvis.

Kimberly Sedor's appointment was revoked Oct. 8 amid allegations that she behaved inappropriately and made crude remarks in front of two Columbia County deputies, according to Jarvis.

Sedor reportedly met with Lt. Joe Lucas and Sgt. Glenn Wyche Sept. 22 at the sheriff's office’s detective division to discuss recent cases. Jarvis said he received statements Oct. 5 from Columbia County Sheriff Mark Hunter that Sedor made a sexual remark to Wyche. The two deputies allege that Sedor then hugged Wyche, kissed him on the head and rubbed her chest against him.

Jarvis said he met with Sedor the following Thursday because Sedor was out of state on a family emergency.

"I presented her with the statements and we mutually agreed that her appointment as an assistant state attorney should terminate," Jarvis said by email Friday.

Sedor was in charge of the Third Circuit's Lake City office. Jarvis has appointed Roberta Getzan to the post, he said.
