Out on routine patrol July 29, Lafayette County Deputy Chad Keen conducted a traffic stop on a Ford van near the Hal Adams Bridge for speeding.
According to Lafayette County Sheriffs Office the driver of the van, Elizabeth Ann-Marie Weldon, 22, 7316 NW CR 251, Mayo gave Keen permission to search the vehicle. Keen said he found cannabis in the van and went on to ask Weldon if she had drugs on her person, she responded, yes, and gave Keen two plastic baggies containing marijuana.
Weldon was placed under arrest by Keen and Deputy Chris Land who had arrived on the scene, and the passenger of the van, Richard Allen Strunk, 30, 11216 113th Rd. Live Oak, was also taken into custody for questioning. Both were transported to Lafayette County Jail.
Weldon and Strunk are charged with possession of cannabis (less than 20 grams) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Strunk was released on a $1000 bond, Weldon on a $500 bond.
