Deputy Scott Hamlin went to work Monday, April 7 as the newest officer at Lafayette County Sheriff's Office.
Hamlin, 34, is a life-long resident of Lafayette County, a county that has a special place in his heart, so much so that he feels going into law enforcement will be a way to give back to a community that is home to he and his family.
"I've always had a desire to work in law enforcement and appreciate the opportunity to follow that dream," said Hamlin.
Hamlin went on to say that he would hope that the community would continue to pray for him and the department.
Before entering the field of law enforcement Hamlin worked 11 years with Putnal Pine Straw, a local business.
