Lafayette County Deputy Travis Boatright responded to a call at 3900 SW CR 534 Mayo, Sunday afternoon Jan. 11.
Upon arrival Boatright's report says that he made contact with Tammie Jo Hempstead and Regina Byrd, EMS who were on the scene where Gene and Harley Woodle were clearing stumps from a pond.
Boatright was told by Gene Woodle that his brother, Harley was walking along side the truck driven by him as he was pulling a large stump. Gene Woodle stated the stump rolled suddenly striking Harley Woodle, 68.
Lafayette EMS met AirMedicOne who airlifted the injured man to Jacksonville Trauma Center where he died early Monday morning, Jan. 12, from injuries sustained in the accident.
