The Republican Party of Suwannee County will host a political rally on Saturday, Oct. 20, from noon to 5 p.m. Seating will be provided, and free food and drinks will be available to those in attendance.
The event will be at the covered loading dock behind the Suwannee County Historical Museum, located off Ohio Avenue North.
“This is what we’re calling a ‘get out and vote’ rally,” stated Barbara Gill, coordinator for the event. “The last time voting took place, we had less than a 50 percent response. We are asking and encouraging everyone to get out and vote.”
The afternoon will be filled with special presentations and guest speakers featuring State Representative Elizabeth Porter, R-Lake City; Ted Yoho, congressional candidate for District 3; Wesley Wainwright, Suwannee County commission chairman; Ivie Fowler, Suwannee County commissioner, District 3. Adam Prins, Live Oak city councilman, District 4; John Gill, Live Oak City Clerk; Keith Mixon, Live Oak city councilman, District 5; Ed daSilva, school board, District 4; Neal Wright, property appraiser candidate; Jeff Siegmeister, state attorney candidate; Jason Bashaw, county commissioner, District 1 candidate; David Laxton, superintendent of schools candidate and Ricky Gamble, county commissioner, District 3 candidate.
