A robbery occurred about 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21, at the First Federal Savings Bank of Florida located at 201 2nd Ave. in Jasper, according to Hamilton County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) Major John Davis. No one was injured during the incident.

A black male wearing a hooded camouflage jacket and dark pants entered the bank and laid a bag on the counter, Maj. Davis said. The man then showed the teller a gun and demanded that she fill the bag with money. After the teller filled the bag with an undisclosed amount of cash, the man left the bank on foot.

Retired Jasper Police Chief Frank Osborn saw a man fitting the description of the bank robber get into a dark colored car at CVS Pharmacy on 100 SE 2nd Ave and drive north on US 41, according to Maj. Davis. The car looked like a Ford Taurus or a Mercury Contour and had duct tape on the rear vent window on the driver's side.

The man is about 5'3" and weighs approximately 170 pounds. He has a dark complexion and is clean-shaven.

The HCSO and the Jasper Police Department have a suspect and are continuing to follow leads.
