Mayo sweeps past Indians, 57-22

Next up: Branford

The Hornets racked up 537 total yards while sending the Chiefland Indians home with a stinging 57-22 defeat Friday.

Mayo will face Branford, their second district opponent, away from home, this Friday, October 10, at 7:30 p.m.

Nick Bracewell completed 18 of 21 attempts for 290 yards and scored six touchdowns. Shyler Morgan ran for 164 yards on 20 attempts and made one touchdown. Jamal Reid had five catches for 123 yards and made two touchdowns. Sergio Perez had three catches for 56 yards and scored two touchdowns. Brooks Laminack ran for 26 yards on three catches and made a single touchdown. Casey Brewer had four catches for 60 yards and scored one touchdown.

On defense, Brewer and Thomas Byrd made seven tackles. Morgan had six tackles and two sacks. Blad Herring made his first career interception.
