Gilchrist man arrested for string of burglaries in Lafayette County

Mayo — Lafayette County Sheriff Brian Lamb announced the arrest of a Gilchrist County man involved in recent burglaries within the county.

“After a several month investigation, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office has charged David Glenn Klingbeil, 39, Gilchrist County, with burglary for committing a ring of burglaries in the county,” said Lamb.

The first burglary, Lamb said, occurred on Feb. 25, the second on March 5, and the most recent was April 29. Klingbeil is being charged in all three burglaries, he said.

“The Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office worked with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office to assist in these investigations,” Lamb said. “The Sheriff’s Office is now attempting to locate the items that were stolen in order to return them to their owners.”

Lamb stated it makes their job easier to apprehend offenders when they commit crimes outside of their county of residence when law enforcement agencies work together to make communities safe for their citizens.
