Live Oak sidewalk construction begins June 9

Live Oak — Work is expected to begin June 9 on a project that will improve the ability for pedestrians to walk safely along Irvin Avenue (State Road 51) in Live Oak.

A five-foot wide sidewalk is being built along the west side of Irvin Avenue, southwest of the roundabout, from Evergreen Avenue Southwest to Walker Avenue.

Daytime lane closures are possible during construction after 8:30 a.m. weekdays.

Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will oversee the project and has hired Environmental Innovations, Inc., of Middleburg to build the sidewalk at a cost of $212,150.

The project should be completed in the fall, weather permitting.

For additional information regarding this project or other FDOT projects around Northeast Florida, visit www.nflroads.com or call 800-475-0044.
