GEORGIA MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED IN LIVE OAK

Wanted in shooting of pregnant Savannah woman

Staff

A suspect in the Georgia murder of a pregnant woman was arrested in Live Oak late Thursday. Emerino Andres Miguel, 35, was captured by the sheriff’s SWAT team at a private residence on US 129, said Suwannee County Sheriff Tony Cameron. The arrest was made without incident.

Miguel is a suspect in the Waynesboro, Ga. murder of 32-year-old Alejandra Reina Canche. Canche, of Savannah, was reportedly four months pregnant. She was shot once in the head.

Cameron said the FBI alerted his agency to Miguel’s possible location in Live Oak.

Miguel’s brother, Lino, also a suspect in the murder, may be in Live Oak as well. Emerino and Lino Miguel were reportedly dropped off in Live Oak Sunday by an unidentified witness. Any tie the men may have to the area is unclear.
