Lafayette County Farm Bureau recognized

The Florida Farm Bureau Federation honored the Lafayette County Farm Bureau for outstanding programs at the Federation's annual meeting Oct. 8-10 in Orlando.
The Lafayette County Farm Bureau was recognized in all five categories, which include public relations/information, legislative/policy implementation, education/agriculture promotions outreach, organization and management and leadership development. In addition the county received a President's Award for its membership category. The President's Award recognizes counties that meet their membership quota and show evidence of excelling in all five categories. Lafayette County Farm Bureau President Rod Land accepted the award from Florida Farm Bureau President John L. Hoblick.
"We are pleased to recognize so many of the 61 county Farm Bureaus in Florida for their good work on behalf of their members," Hoblick said. "The County Recognition Program allows counties to be recognized in front of their peers."
Lafayette County Farm Bureau is headquartered in Mayo and serves more than 800 member-families in the area. It is affiliated with the Florida Farm Bureau Federation headquartered in Gainesville. More than 400 leading farmers and ranchers attended the annual meeting in Orlando. Florida Farm Bureau has approximately 140,00 member families. Farm Bureau is a nonprofit trade organization that advocates on behalf of agriculture and agricultural producers.
