Bulldogs earn big district win

The Bulldogs defeated the Middleburg Broncos 8-4 Thursday night in an important district contest.
The ‘Dogs hit two doubles and two homeruns on the night. The doubles came from the bats of Dalton Wigelsworth and Mike Staley. David Campbell hit his second homer of the season to put the Bulldogs up 5-1 in the third inning. The second homerun of the night for Suwannee came from sophomore Greg Bowers, on his first swing as a varsity player. Mack Murray pitched five innings for the win, while Matthew Pennington came on for two innings of relief.
JV completes sweep
of Eagle’s View
The junior varsity ‘Dogs defeated the Eagle’s View Academy Warriors for the second time this season on Friday. Sophomore righty Ryan Turman threw a complete game for the 6-3 win. Freshman centerfielder, Ryan daSilva, homered over the left field wall for the Bulldogs. The JV Dogs are now 9-2 and will play the Santa Fe Raiders in Alachua Saturday morning at 11:00.
