Suwannee Democrat letter to the editor - Sept. 14, 2011

Live Oak — Dear Editor,

I would like to say thank you to the two young men who stopped on 221st Road Friday night and let us know that our dog had been hit. Thank you so much, for doing the right and humane thing when so many others would not have. He is doing well and a little sore but hopefully will be OK. Blessings of Light, Love, Peace and Prosperity to you and again thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness. The Williams Family.

Dear Editor,

RE:  Wellborn EMS; response to Our View

I was very pleased to see your coverage and your “Our View” concerning the Wellborn EMS.  You are absolutely correct in your opinion of “Let’s Not Rush It.”

The reasoning behind Comm. Oxendine’s motion was simply to earmark the state funds for use concerning the EMS.  We were concerned that the funds would be earmarked for another use, or in the worst case, taken back by the state because of non-use.  That was the reason for the motion.

Comm. Oxendine’s motion also included that upon a vote of earmarking the funds, that a workshop be scheduled and costs finalized for the entire structure including furnishings, equipment and follow-up salaries.

The Wellborn EMS will benefit the entire county and will not require money to be taken from the general funds of the existing or new budget. Sincerely,

Wendell Snowden
