Bill Burnham, age 70, of Jennings, Florida, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007. The Hamilton County native and lifelong resident was born July 30, 1937, to the late John Sherman Burnham and Ollie Waters Burnham. He was a retired first class mechanic from Occidental/PCS Chemical Company and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Burnham was a member of Burnham Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Kitty Pollock Burnham of Jennings; three brothers: Harlon Burnam (Willodean) of Jennings, John Burnam (Phyllis) of Dunedin, Florida, and Farrell Burnam (Marilyn) of Jasper; two sisters: Janie Herring (Jimmy) of Jennings, and Geneva Johns of Waycross, Georgia; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 31, 2007, at Burnham Christian Church with Pastor Robert Carter officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Harry T. Reid Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Henry S. Selph

Henry S. Selph, age 73, of Lake City, Florida, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007, in Gainesville, Florida, following a brief illness. The Hamilton County, Florida, native was born March 20, 1934, to the late William M. and Mertie Herring Selph. Mr. Selph was a retired law officer, having served in both the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department and the Valdosta Police Department. He was a member of Burnham Christian Church, Jennings, Florida.

Survivors include his close companion, Fay Ola Hartley of Lake City, Florida; his children: Steve Selph of Hahira, Georgia, Cliff Selph of Valdosta, Georgia, Danny Selph of Pembroke, Georgia, Bonnie Barton of Valdosta, Shelly Patterson of Ellenwood, Georgia, Connie Jones (Billy) of Lulu, Florida, Hillard Hartley, Patrick Hartley, Dale Hartley and Tim Hartley, all of Lake City; one brother: Marvin Selph of Jasper, Florida; 13 grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Saturday, September 1, 2007, at Burnham Church Cemetery with Pastor Pete Carroll officiating.

Harry T. Reid Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
