2 charged in burglary

Justin Pierrae Gunsby, 20, and Sylvester Jordan Tompkins, 18, were arrested and charged with burglary and larceny following an investigation of a break in and theft at the Dairy Queen Restaurant on US 129 South.

According to a Sheriff's Office charge report filed by Investigator David Ehlert, after entry was made into the rear of the store on Dec. 3, store security cameras show two male subjects. They allegedly walked to the front counter, accessed the safe, and removed approximately $1,000. Following their arrest, both admitted to participation in the burglary and splitting the money, according to reports. Both are being held on $10,000 bond.



Pair arrested on drug charges

Javon Rashad Bell, 19, of 1166 SW 3rd Street and Zed Donald Washington, 23, of 3523 103rd Place, Jasper, were taken into custody by the Hamilton County DTF and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell within 1000' of a church on Dec. 12.

Recovered during the arrest were other drugs and drug paraphernalia at Bell's residence, authorities report.

In addition, Bell was served with two warrants from previous investigations and was charged with five additional counts of possession with intent to sell - cocaine and one additional count of possession with intent to sell - marijuana.

Bond was set at $50,000 for Bell and $10,000 for Washington.



Accident leads to DUI arrest

Jessica Leigh Estrada, 19, was arrested Dec. 11, by Florida Highway Patrol Trooper J. Stewart, after she lost control of the 1994 Mercury she was driving and struck a utility pole on 39th Way, according to Florida Highway Patrol reports. Witnesses pulled Estrada from the vehicle and stayed with her until law enforcement arrived, said FHP. According to reports, Estrada appeared intoxicated and a partially empty bottle of Amaretto was found in her vehicle. A breath test was performed and she was subsequently charged with possession of alcohol by a person under 21 and "DUI alcohol or drugs first conviction."

Estrada was released after posting a $3,000 bond.
