Wellborn woman charged with drug trafficking

By Jo Ross

Ashley Darlene Wilson, 20, Post Office Box 194, Wellborn, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and taken into custody by a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Investigator on Sept. 23, jail records show.

According to the sheriff’s reports, Wilson, after legally obtaining a prescription for Prednisone, altered it to indicate Lortab (hydrocodone), a controlled substance.

Wilson then allegedly gave the prescription to her mother to have it filled at a local pharmacy. Both Wilson and her mother denied the mother knew about the forgery.

Wilson allegedly told authorities she planned to sell the hydrocodone to get money to bond her sister out of jail.

Wilson was booked into the Hamilton County Jail but was released after posting a $5,000 bond the following day.
