Driver injured when ejected from her car
Kari A. Harrington, 24, of White Springs, is in serious condition after being ejected from her car when it overturned, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Harrington was traveling south on CR 137 near Florida Rock at about 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13. As she entered a curve, she drove onto the east shoulder of the road, the report states. Her car traveled about 375 feet, overturning twice, before coming to a rest on its top. Harrington was ejected from the car when it overturned the second time, according to the report.
Harrington was transported to Shands at UF by Air Care with serious injuries. The injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, according to the report.
The accident was not alcohol related, and Harrington was not wearing her seatbelt, the report states. She was charged with failure to drive within a single lane, according to the report. Her car, a 2003 Kia, sustained about $8,000 damage.
