Extreme Wildcat Challenge

By Cadet Tyrah Johnson

On Sept. 20, Suwannee High School’s NJROTC unit competed against 15 other schools in 12 different events at the Extreme Wildcat Challenge in Winter Park. Suwannee brought home six trophies: Dizzy Izzy - second place; Clothes Horse Relay - second place; Commando Lifeboat Relay - second place and Blindmans Bluff - third place. Suwannee also took home the Spirit Award, our second year in a row for outstanding sportsmanship and overall competition.

Suwannee took second place overall. While other schools took up to 163 cadets, Suwannee took only 47 students to compete. Winning second place shows that it’s not about how many people you bring, it’s about how much teamwork, spirit, and motivation they have. Suwannee cheered for each other while they competed and they even cheered for the other teams that were competing.

Suwannee High School NJROTC unit is a unit full of professionalism and pride and they displayed it constantly.
